From Prague along E65 towards Mladá Boleslav and Liberec. Turn at the 71st km in the direction of Turnov and Rovensko pod Troskami. Furthermore, the route continues along the road E442 to the village Borek pod Troskami, where it turns right to the village Tachov and Trosky castle (3km). In Tachov, the detour to the castle is marked. Below that is the parking lot, where the journey continues on foot about 250 meters uphill.

The nearest railway station is in the village of Borek pod Troskami (approx 3.5 km from the castle along the blue trail). The journey from Prague takes about 2.5 hours with a change in Turnov.
